PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
It's no secret to Damien that he has a youthful, pretty appearance that, to some, might belie his capabilities. He doesn't mind, though-- it comes in handy, at least. He has somewhat big, dark eyes, a soft face, and a lithe body.
When off the job or in 'plainclothes' he typically dresses in quite trendy styles, but what that encompasses can vary widely. When he's on the job trying to lay low, he will probably be more likely to wear darker colors. When undercover, he’ll wear whatever the job or role requires. He usually carries one handgun + extra ammo, a multi-functional pocket knife, a tiny camera, an earpiece, a few portal devices, and an encrypted, off-grid device used to communicate with Erebus and allies.
Normally, his hair is kept black and at about just past chin-length, parted to one side. It’s easy to manage that way. But, occasionally, on a whim or for a job, he’ll grow it out, dye it, or wear extensions or wigs to change up his appearance.

Damien’s main mutation gives him the ability to convert an object’s potential energy into pure light kinetic energy, and give it an explosive charge. Because it takes longer to charge a large object, he tends to use smaller objects—his top choice being his deck of playing cards (he used to use Pokemon cards but realized he wanted to keep those...). He is skilled at using this power to his advantage, and it has come in handy many times over the course of his job.This kinetic charge also gives him enhanced agility, endurance, strength and reflexes, and a heightened defense against telepathic powers. He has also learned to quickly condense energy into small marble-like orbs, which combust.
Additionally, Damien possesses a hypnotic charm which allows him to sway or convince others. However, this charm only works on those who don’t know about it, so he prefers to keep it secret.

Damien is good-natured and down-to-earth. He deeply cares about those close to him, especially if they have been through tumultuous times together. He is friendly and considerate, and has a pretty bright and cheerful outward personality. He is honest when it counts, and loves to lend a helping hand.
However, due to the nature of his job, he does not open up too deeply too easily. He is astute and observant, and extremely resourceful. He is flexible enough to adapt to new and difficult situations and accommodate accordingly when things don't go as planned. He is very capable of taking care of himself, and also very keen and intuitive as to when determining if he's being lied to.
While he prefers not to use violence, and tries to only use his kinetic charges for distraction, he does kill. He tries not to think about that too much, though.
That changed at the age of twelve, when he accidentally caused his desk to explode, injuring himself and several other classmates. The incident landed him in the hospital, and he was expelled from school. Needless to say, he was distraught and terrified. He had no idea how he'd done it, but he was certain it had been his fault.
A few days into his stay at the hospital, he was visited by someone he'd never seen before. They informed him that it was apparent that he was a mutant, and the desk exploding had been his power surfacing. They offered him a chance to study and train in a program under an agency called Erebus. He was told not to mention it to anybody, and if he had to explain to his parents, to tell them it was just a prep school for people like him--which was partly true, at least.
Needless to say, this new happening, this new direction, was certainly a weight on Damien's shoulders. He was only twelve, and truthfully wasn't sure he was equipped to make a decision like that... but after much thought, he accepted.
At Erebus, Damien learned to use, control, and strengthen his powers. He also was educated in everything ranging from languages, to law, to first aid and CPR. He trained in hidden compounds and advanced driving, as well as weapons handling and combat. In addition, he gained knowledge and experience of things he had never even known to exist or be possible, like time travel, aliens from other planets, and interdimensional transportation. His world—- his universe-— expanded exponentially with each year he spent in the program.
As soon as he graduated the program at eighteen, Damien was promoted to the status of Level I Agent and officially aliased 'Gemini'. He became a member of a squad of four other Agents, plus a Captain, and embarked on his first mission-- thwarting an assassination attempt on a leading activist on a planet a few galaxies over.
Since then, Damien has quickly proven himself an extremely capable Agent and since risen the ranks, reaching Level V. Recently, he has been promoted to the rank of Captain. As a higher-level Agent (and now Captain), Damien is able to embark on missions by himself, with his squad, or join efforts with those from other agencies or universes. When not engaging with an ally in intelligence or on a mission, he probably has a cover for his occupation or reason for being in a given place.
They are not owned or controlled by any government or nation, but at times they do aid government agencies in their tasks—-however, other times they are on conflicting sides of the same task.
An Erebus agent must go through years of a rigorous training program, with some agents starting as teenagers (the youngest start at thirteen). Depending on their goals and their suitabilities, an agent-in-training might take a focused course path for certain specialized positions (for example, technology experts).
For a field agent, once they complete their training, they become a Level I Agent, and are assigned to a squad. At the head of each squad is a Captain. Most teams have members with varying levels. As years go on and an agent proves more capable, they are promoted to a higher level.
